Amy Felsinger works on a range of projects connected with promoting equality and diversity in higher education, specialising in disability and age.

Amy Felsinger

Amy has a background in welfare rights and advocacy, with experience working in a Citizens' Advice Bureau, a Local Authority and a Students’ Union professional advice service.  Prior to joining ECU, Amy worked at the University of Sussex Students' Union for eight years, initially as a Welfare Rights Adviser, then an Education Researcher and latterly as manager of the Representation and Democracy Service.  A key part to her last role included providing support and briefings to union elected officers to ensure they understood and applied equality and diversity legislation in their committee work both at a union and institution-wide level.  She has also been a committee member of AMSU's Diversity Action Working Group. 

Amy holds a degree in sociology with art history and a postgraduate diploma in advice and paralegal work.

Current activities

  • Amy is developing a project which will explore Admissions for underrepresented groups.  This will involve working with key admissions stakeholders to develop a good practice model of admissions to complement the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
