Freya Douglas's profile
Freya Douglas joined Equality Challenge Unit in October 2010. She is the lead contact for Scottish higher education institutions and works on projects connected with promoting equality and diversity in higher education in Scotland.
Prior to joining ECU, Freya worked at the University of Edinburgh where she assisted with the planning and delivery of several widening participation projects, including a programme to widen access to the professions, a primary and early secondary school initiative and an annual summer school. She was also responsible for various UK and EU student recruitment activities, such as delivering talks in high schools across Scotland, representing the University at higher education conventions throughout the UK and at University open days.
Freya studied English Literature at the University of Edinburgh followed by a Masters in Material Cultures and the History of the Book, during which she concentrated on the history of book auctioning in Scotland. Whilst studying, she worked for the University's International Office assisting with international student recruitment and as a student support assistant for the University's English Language Teaching Centre.
