Board of Directors
ECU is supported by a Board of Directors
Equality Challenge Unit became a company limited by guarantee in 2006. The Board of Directors is responsible for preparing the annual reports and accounts.
The ECU Board consists of up to 13 members including the Chair, plus two Executive Officers.
Five Board members are appointed jointly by Universities UK and GuildHE, from among their members. The remaining members are appointed to the Board via the Nominations Committee.
The Board meets four times a year in January, April, July and October.
Representatives from the following organisations are also invited to attend ECU Board meetings in an observer capacity:

- GuildHE
- Higher Education Funding Council for England
- Higher Education Funding Council for Wales
- Department for Employment and Learning Northern Ireland
- Scottish Funding Council
