Disability: our work
Work to help institutions in supporting disabled students and staff
ECU’s disability team has developed a series of 2010 projects all of which aim to assist institutions in adopting a strategic approach to meeting the needs and entitlements of disabled staff and students. We have used a range of sector evidence to inform our project choices.
Staff
ECU’s project work to support disabled staff has been developed in part in response to the recommendations specifically for higher education put forward by the Commission for Disabled Staff in Lifelong Learning and through discussions with key stakeholders and partners.
Students
Our disabled students projects are in response to some of the outcomes of HEFCE's review of its policy as it relates to disabled students and evaluation of provision and support for disabled students in higher education. The project choices are also driven by initiatives identified in the government's National Student Forum and from discussions with our stakeholders and partners.
