Developing equality training for your college

Related subject: |

Opportunity to test out equality learning activities

Following a request from colleges, this 'train the trainer' event has been developed to provide an opportunity for delegates to test out equality learning activities that they can adapt and use for equality training at their institution.

Agenda

This practical seminar has been developed with input from equality practitioners working in Scottish colleges.

The session will explore prejudice, stereotyping and bias, multiple barriers to access and explore ways of effecting change. The agenda aims to challenge participants, exploring activities and approaches to eliminating discrimination, advance equality, foster good relations and help to position equality and diversity as a core business function.

There will be chance to share perspectives and collaborate to develop ideas for advancing equality in your own organisational setting.

The seminar will be supported by Tony Stevenson, an experienced equality practitioner who has worked with a wide range of public and voluntary sector organisations to meet the requirements of equality and human rights law.

Who should attend?

The seminar will be of interest to anyone responsible for delivering equality training in their college, and for people that support the advancement of equality more generally.

Register your place

This event is free to attend although registration is necessary. The event is limited to a maximum of 30 participants and bookings are therefore limited to one place per college initially. A waiting list will be created for further staff members should places become available.

If you register for a place but fail to attend, or do not transfer your booking to a colleague, you will be charged a £50 non-attendance fee.
