Engaging with the post-May 2015 Athena SWAN process

This workshop will focus on the new requirements of the expanded Athena SWAN Charter and aims to support applicants in smoothly transitioning from their current awards to post-May 2015 awards. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from ECU staff as well as from applicants who have successfully engaged with the post-May 2015 Charter.

The workshop will include:

  • an overview of the changes to the Athena SWAN Charter
  • explanation of levels and new criteria including intersectionality, support for trans people, and professional and support staff
  • insights from applicants who have been successful in engaging with the post-May 2015 Charter
  • small-group exercises, including SMART action planning around the new principles

There will also be the opportunity to ask questions relating directly to your institution, plan your institution’s future work and to network and share ideas with other higher education institutions (HEIs).

The workshop will be held in London (venue TBC) and will run from 11.00am until 3.30pm, with registration from 10.30am.

Register

The event is for subscribing institutions who did not use their 2017 consultancy before the requested deadline, and Scottish and Welsh HEIs participating in the charters. Three representatives from each institution are invited to attend free of charge. 30 places in total are available.

Institutions that have already claimed their 2017 consultancy can contact ECU to purchase a limited number of places for a fee and can contact the ECU office at ecu@ecu.ac.uk  to find out more.
