LGBT equality: support for staff and students in Scotland's universities and colleges
A half-day seminar organised by Equality Forward that builds on work supporting colleges and universities on LGBT issues
Over the last year, Equality Forward has been involved in providing support to colleges and universities on LGBT issues, and discussions on LGBT equality have featured prominently in Equality Forum discussions.
This seminar will build on previous work looking at good practice in developing staff and student support mechanisms, and revisits how and when to monitor sexual orientation and gender identity.
ECU involvement
Chris Hall, Senior Policy Adviser at ECU, will give a presentation on the LGBT staff and students in higher education project and a workshop on steps to progress LGBT equality in higher education institutions.
