Mental wellbeing in higher education: current challenges

The Universities UK / Guild HE working group for the promotion of wellbeing in higher education conference

The conference will offer the opportunity to:

  • Reflect on the impact of the current higher education context on mental well-being
  • Learn about the nature and extent of difficulties being presented by students
  • Hear the analysis of the results of our 2008 survey into policy and practice
  • Consider ways of counteracting alcohol misuse
  • Attend seminars on two of the following topics: the needs of international students, staff well-being, challenging stigma, the work of Nightline, strategies to help staff support students, institutional responses to alcohol misuse
  • Contribute to determining the future direction of the working group
