Postgraduate Review

ECU has published a response to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills call for evidence to inform their forthcoming Postgraduate Review, chaired by Professor Adrian Smith.

ECU made four main recommendations of areas for the review to consider:

• Changing Disabled Students Allowances to enable postgraduate disabled students to receive the same maximum level of support as undergraduate disabled students.
• The experiences of, and support available to, part-time postgraduate applicants/students including financial support and childcare, for example.
• The extent to which postgraduates are properly catered for by traditional staff and student support structures.
• The support offered by academic departments to encourage and assist progression from postgraduate study into academic careers - especially for women and black and minority ethnic students.
