ECU seeks new Board member
An opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of ECU
ECU is seeking to appoint a new member to our Board of Directors, offering an opportunity to join a dynamic and diverse Board at an exciting point in ECU's development.
Board members provide vision and strategic direction to ECU, working with the Chief Executive to ensure the successful delivery of our mission to support and promote equality and diversity in the higher education sector.
We are currently seeking applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Commitment to promoting the highest standards of practice regarding equality and diversity
- Understanding of higher education in the UK and/or abroad
- Understanding of effective corporate governance
- Experience of industrial relations, preferably with a trade union background
Board members are expected to devote a minimum of five days of time per annum to the work of the unit. This is not a paid post, but travel and incidental expenses will be reimbursed.

The Nominations Committee reserves the right to interview, although it is anticipated that selection will be conducted on the basis of the written application alone. If interviews are held these will take place in London on Thursday 4 December 2008.
