Equality Act 2010 duty commences today

A detailed update on recent Equality Act developments

The public sector equality duty underpinning the Equality Act 2010 came into force today (5 April 2011). This replaces the previous duties for race, gender and disability.

The previous specific duties for race, gender and disability have also been revoked.
