Equality Bill faces delay
New bill may be pushed back from scheduled April release
The publication of the Equality Bill has been pushed back to late May, or early June, according to The Equal Opportunities Review.
Issues surrounding public procurement, contract compliance and remedies for non-compliance are believed to be causing the delay. Plans to create a single public duty are due for consultation in the Spring, which may also contribute to the delay in publication.
Equality Challenge Unit will continue to keep the higher education sector informed as further details of the bill are made available.
