First research into experiences of LGBT staff and students in HE to be unveiled

Over 4000 lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans staff and students responded to ECU's survey into the experiences of LGB and T people in higher education. The findings of the research will be launched at a prestigious conference, and promise to provide an invaluable evidence-base for the sector. 

Action on evidence: the experience of LGBT staff and students in higher education

4 March 2009, Kingsway Hall, Holborn, London

The conference will offer the opportunity to consider and discuss the results of the research, the first national survey to analyse the experiences of LGBT staff and students in higher education. Delegates will also help to shape ECU's further work with the sector to address the challenges highlighted by the research.

Keynote speakers include Dianne Willcocks, Vice-Chancellor of York St. John University and Ben Summerskill, Chief Executive of Stonewall and commissioner for the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
