ECU welcomes new Policy Director
Equality Challenge Unit today announced the appointment of Levi Pay to the role of Interim Policy Director
Levi Pay will join ECU on secondment from the University of Leeds, where he is Head of the university's Equality Service.
Nicola Dandridge, Chief Executive of Equality Challenge Unit, said:
'We are delighted that Levi is joining ECU. His wide experience in the equalities field, having previously held policy and public affairs roles with the Scottish Parliament, the Commission for Racial Equality and Stonewall, will contribute considerably to the work being undertaken by our policy team.
Levi's knowledge of the equality and diversity issues facing the higher education sector as a whole, alongside first-hand experience of implementing equality measures within a university, makes him a perfect candidate for this position and strengthens our ability to provide targeted services to the sector.'
Commenting on his appointment, Levi Pay said:
'I am very much looking forward to joining the team at ECU. Given that the new anti-discrimination legislation is on the horizon and funding pressures are starting to emerge within higher education, it has never been more important to ensure that issues of fairness and equality are firmly on the agenda of institutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation renowned for issuing clear, practical advice to the sector.'
Levi will join ECU in September.
