Equality Act briefings and seminars
Supporting the sector in meeting the new legislative requirements of the Equality Act 2010

The Equality Bill received royal assent in April 2010 to become the Equality Act 2010. The Act brings together and extends existing equality legislation.
ECU is liaising with the Government Equalities Office and the Equality and Human Rights Commission to inform relevant guidance and codes of practice to support the higher education sector in meeting the requirements of the Act.
ECU is also running a series of practice-focused events to support the sector in meeting the new public sector equality duty.
