Equality in Scotland's colleges: statistical report

Related subject: | | |

Developing a statistical report that provides an equality baseline for college student data and additional commentary

For: Scotland's colleges

When: January 2012 – July 2012

ECU is analysing data provided by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and will develop a statistical report and commentary drawing on this analysis.

In addition, wider research will be conducted to understand what data is collected for staff within the sector, how it’s collected and how it is held. This will enable a greater understanding of the current activity for staff data disclosure, and support any future joint activity with SFC to ensure compliance with the reporting duties of the Equality Act.

A survey will be circulated February investigating what staff equalities data is currently collected in colleges, who is responsible for the data collection and how it is managed and monitored.

The survey findings will be used to inform guidance materials on data disclosure and collecting information across the protected characteristics.
