Encouraging a proactive and anticipatory approach to funding support for disabled students and staff in higher education

The Disability Equality Duty requires institutions to anticipate and make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.
As part of its Higher Education Funding Council for England funded disabled student strategy, ECU has appointed consultants to investigate how higher education institutions currently approach funding support for disabled students and staff. The research will look to identify proactive and anticipatory approaches which enable inclusive campus environments for disabled students, staff and visitors.
The research is advised by a steering group whose membership includes representatives from key sector bodies including:

Guidance
This research will result in guidance, to include case study examples, which will identify proactive steps institutions can use to develop inclusive management and funding mechanisms for adjustments in higher education.
