ECU Scotland project on equality impact assessment

A recent ‘call for interest’ went out to Scottish colleges and universities for participation in a new working group to look at the challenges of conducting strategic equality impact assessment, particularly in relation to Scottish Funding Council outcome agreements.

Working group participation will include involvement from both an equality and diversity lead and a strategic lead responsible for outcome agreements in each nominated institution. The project is designed to examine approaches to strategic equality impact assessment, including consideration of the links and overlaps between equality and diversity priorities and reporting within outcome agreements, alongside other equality reporting under the Scottish public sector equality duties.

The project will result in the production of recommendations and guidance for the Scottish sector by summer 2019, to coincide with the next three yearly Scottish Funding Council outcome agreement cycle. The project will be managed by ECU and funded by the Scottish Funding Council.

The closing date for interest is 5pm on Friday 1 December.

If you would like to find out more about this project, please contact ECU’s Anne Ireson (Policy Officer) via email or by telephone (0131 322 3735).
