Advance HE’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference
Save the date!
We are delighted to announce that Advance HE will be holding it’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference on Wednesday 31 October and Thursday 1 November 2018, at ACC in Liverpool.
Last year’s conference provided an opportunity to network with over 200 colleagues from within the higher education sector.
Feedback from ECU Annual Conference 2017:
‘This was the first time I have attended and I will definitely sign up for next year – I feel I have missed out on being part of something special previously! It was great to …. have the opportunity to network with a wide range of people from across the sector and to be in a space devoted to consideration of the many aspects I am passionate about. Speakers and facilitators were engaging, willingly sharing their own perspectives alongside best practice information and creative ideas that will help inform my work and move things forward. Thank you.’
‘Absolutely loved it – didn’t want to leave! Was so very useful meeting others doing similar work to me in other institutions, being able to share experiences and practices, and having space to talk, constructively, about the many challenges we face in doing such work, and to also have the chance to eat and laugh together – the comedian was brilliant!!!’
‘The standard was higher than I am used to from maths conferences! All talks made me think. ‘
‘It broadened my network as I started to follow and be followed by more people.’
‘It was wonderful and a refreshing experience to hear from a diverse range of speakers, both keynotes and on other panels/workshops, than I encounter at the vast majority of academic conferences I attend through my own PhD studies.’
Advance HE’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference 2018
2018 will see sweeping changes to the higher education sector: how it is regulated, how it is supported, and how it fits into “Brexit” Britain. ECU has changed too. As Advance HE we continue to support the professional practice of those in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
At this year’s conference we focus on ensuring a strong and resilient culture of learning, professionalism and pride in EDI work: celebrating your successes, pushing for progress, and equipping you for challenges ahead. The conference will focus on the theme of Practice and Progress.
The conference will be an inspiring two days in the beautiful city of Liverpool, for details on the venue and surrounding area click here.
