Athena SWAN consultancy event – from SMART actions to impact
Tuesday 17 October 10.30am - 3.30pm
In response to feedback and queries from our subscribers, ECU is holding a consultancy event exclusively for subscribing institutions aiming for Athena SWAN Silver awards, to inform their institutional and departmental work in relation to these requirements.
Date and time: Tuesday 17 October, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Location: National Council for Voluntary Organisations, 8 All Saints Street, London, N1 9RL
From SMART actions to impact
This workshop is for universities and departments across the UK aiming for Athena SWAN Silver awards. The workshop aims to give attendees a clear understanding of how to create SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound) actions which underpin their efforts toward achieving Silver awards.
The workshop will also address plans for monitoring and evaluating actions that lead to evidenced impact. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect on their own action plans, with a view to understanding how to build upon these to demonstrate impact in the future.
The workshop will include:
- Insights from applicants who have been successful in achieving silver departmental and university awards
- group exercises including SMART action planning and evaluation for impact
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from ECU staff as well as from applicants who have successfully achieved silver status. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions relating directly to your institution, plan your institution’s future work and to network and share ideas with other HEIs.
The workshop will be held in London, at The National Council for Voluntary Organisations, and will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm, with registration from 10.00am.
The event is for subscribing institutions who did not use their 2017 consultancy before the requested deadline, and Scottish and Welsh Higher Education Institutions participating in the charters. Three representatives from each institution are invited to attend free of charge. 30 places in total are available.
Institutions that have already claimed their 2017 consultancy can contact ECU to purchase a limited number of places for a fee and can contact the ECU office at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
You will need to register to take part in this event, please fill out the form below.
