Equality Challenge Unit is now a subscription organisation

On the 1 January 2016, ECU became a subscription organisation.

Institutions in England and Northern Ireland must now have subscribed to ECU in order to access our research, publications and advice line or take part in any of our Equality Charters. Institutions in Wales and Scotland remain supported through funding agreements with the national funding councils.

About ECU’s subscription package

ECU are your partners in advancing equality and diversity. Subscription to ECU ensures you’re supported in addressing your institution’s specific equality needs. Membership of our equality charters is included in the subscription package along with access to an essential community of inclusive practice and guidance.

Subscribers web portal

Subscribing and supported institutions can now log in through our web portal to download your member logo. Register today.

Who can subscribe?

Institutions based in England or Northern Ireland can subscribe to ECU. This includes some independent universities. To enquire about subscribing to ECU, please get in touch with our Engagement Manager, Gemma Instrall.

Institutions in Scotland and Wales

If you are a higher education institutions in Scotland and Wales, or a college in Scotland, you do not need to subscribe to ECU to continue to access our resources. The Scottish Funding Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales provide funding to ECU directly for us to support you. However you will still need to register to access ECU resources and will continue to have to join ECU’s Equality Charters separately. You are welcome to download and use the ECU member logo.
