Scottish Government announces Race Equality Action Plan

The plan contains 120 actions spanning employment, education, health, housing, poverty, community cohesion and safety for all minority ethnic communities in Scotland.

New report looks at admission barriers for poor students

The Sutton Trust has published a report looking at admissions barriers for poor students, finding that the admissions process itself is a key factor.

Gender pay gap analysis and enforcement

The Office for National Statistics has published analysis on the gender pay gap in the UK, while the Equality and Human Rights Commission has published its plan for enforcing the gender pay gap regulations.

Latest report on experience of trans and gender diverse applicants

TransEdu has published a report on the experience of trans and gender diverse applicants, students and staff in Scotland’s colleges and universities.

Royal Society Athena Prize

The prize is for individuals and teams, working in UK academic and research communities, who have contributed most to the advancement of diversity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) within their communities. Deadline for nominations is Monday 29 January 2018.

November 2017 Athena SWAN review round underway

Student Minds is seeking input from students, recent graduates and staff in relation to LGBTQ+ mental health to help inform a project to support LGBTQ+ students. You can access the survey here.

Disability Rights UK has published three updated factsheets for disabled students on funding and applying for adjustments.
