An introduction to ECU’s equality charters
This session is for any university at the beginning of their involvement with ECU’s equality charters. Providing an overview of the history and processes, the day will equip your staff with the tools to start on their journey towards applying to an ECU Charter.
This workshop will benefit all members of staff interested in or working towards applying to ECU’s Charters.
On the day
Through group discussions and practical exercises participants will learn:
- what charter marks are, and specifically the background and aims of ECU’s charters
- the difference and similarities between Athena SWAN and the Race Equality Charter
- the charters process, including establishing and running a self-assessment team, data requirements, SMART action planning, submitting applications, what happens once an application has been submitted
- top tips and hints and common reasons for applications being unsuccessful
The workshop is delivered as a half-day session, but can be adapted to suit your timings.
