Engaging with post-May 2015 Athena SWAN
Following the session, attendees will understand the new requirements of the expanded Charter, and how to smoothly transition from their current awards to Post-May 2015 awards.
This workshop will focus on the new requirements of the expanded Athena SWAN Charter and aims to support applicants new to the Charter as well as those transitioning from their current award to new awards under the expanded process. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from ECU staff as well as from applicants who have successfully engaged with the expanded Charter.
The workshop will include:
- an overview of the changes to the Athena SWAN Charter
- explanation of levels and new criteria including intersectionality, support for trans people, and professional and support staff
- insights from applicants who have been successful in engaging with the expanded Charter
- small-group exercises, including SMART action planning around the new principle
There will also be the opportunity to ask questions relating directly to your institution, plan your institution’s future work and to network and share ideas with other higher education institutions (HEIs).
The single-day workshops will be held in London, Birmingham and Manchester in March and September from 11.00am until 4.00pm, with registration from 10.30am. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the session titled ‘From SMART actions to impact’ which will run on the consecutive day and delegates can attend both if they wish. However, they are standalone workshops and delegates can choose to attend only one if they would like to.This will be a group consultancy event for subscribing institutions and Scottish and Welsh HEIs participating in the charters. Three representatives are invited to attend one workshop free of charge as part of their 2018 consultancy option. 30 places are available.
Institutions that have already claimed their 2018 consultancy can contact ECU to purchase a limited number of options for a fee, dependent on availability, and can contact the ECU office at email@example.com to find out more.
