Understanding and adopting an intersectional approach to Athena SWAN and Race Equality Charters – Workshop
This workshop is for universities across the UK taking part in ECU’s Athena SWAN and Race Equality Charters. The workshop aims to give attendees a clear understanding of intersectionality, and how to adopt an intersectional approach in their own equality work.
The workshop will include:
- Insights from applicants who have been successful in achieving charter awards
- group exercises including intersectional data and analysis.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from ECU staff as well as from applicants who have successfully achieved awards. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions relating directly to your institution, plan your institution’s future work and to network and share ideas with other HEIs.
The workshop will be held on 17th May 2018 in Edinburgh from 11.00am until 4.00pm, with registration from 10.30am.
The event is for subscribing institutions and Scottish and Welsh Higher Education Institutions participating in the charters. Three representatives from each institution are invited to attend free of charge. 30 places in total are available. In order to book your place, please click here.
Institutions that have already claimed their 2018 consultancy can contact ECU to purchase a limited number of places for a fee, dependent on availability, and can contact the ECU office at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
